7. Foods and Vitamins and supplements to help hair growth:

8.Care Of Oily Hair And Scalp Condition:The principle of care for oily hair and scalp condition is the same as used for oily skin condition.The routine aims at removing the excess oil and to exfoliate skin cells which clogs up and suffocate the hair follicles in our scalp.The emphasis is laid on cleansing and toning routines.Since the hair has to be washed as frequently as it gets dirty and oily, a natural shampoo on a formulation of herbs such as amla, shikakai, trijla is ideal.Massaging hair and scalp is important for the well being as well as good growth of the hair.For dry hair, scalp massaging with oil is recommended.For oily hair massaging with toning lotion is suitable.
9.Method of Shampooing:
Prepare the hair for shampooing. Before wetting your hair for shampooing, comb through with a wide toothed comb to prevent tangles. Mix and adjust the water flow. Mix the water to a comfortable temperature.
Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply the shampoo to the hair by first pouring it into your hand and never directly. Apply with the hands and fingers, massage firmly in rotating and circular movements. Massage the whole head. Rinse the hair and scalp thoroughly and carefully. Apply more shampoo and massage for the second time if needed, finally rinse all shampoo from the hair and scalp with clean water. Finally check the hair lines and make sure that the dirt and shampoo has been removed from hair and scalp. Dry the hair gently. Don’t rub just blot the wet hair with a towel and then smooth the towel along the length of your hair. Avoid blow drying as far as possible. If you shampoo regularly there is no need to lather twice.
A conditioner is to hair what a moisturiser is to the skin and it used after shampooing. All types of hair have to be conditioned to keep it shiny and flexible. Conditioning is specially useful for dry hair. It adds to the natural oil supply and gives dry hair, shine as well as bounce and strength. For oily hair, use conditioner only on the ends of your hair .
Method of Conditioning:
1. After shampooing gently squeeze the excess water.
2. Comb the hair with the fingers or with wide toothed comb from the roots to the ends gently. Remove tangles.
3. Apply little conditioner and rub the conditioner through the hair with the fingers. Never rub on the scalp.
4.Keep it on the hair for 5 minutes
5.Now gently massage the hair to loosen the conditioner.
6.Rinse the hair and remove all traces of conditioner. Now dry the hair.
* Use natural shampoo or soap to clean the hair.
* Use amla (embilica officinalis), Shikakai (Acacia concinna) for washing the hair.
* Enhance oiling and massaging of scalp.
* Use coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times in a week.
* Use medicated oils like ‘Mahabhringraj oil’, ‘Amala oil’ and ‘Arnica oil’. Put oil on the scalp and massage gently in the roots of the hair.
* Maintain a regular bowel movement everyday.
* The diet should contain more green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, soybean and vitamin A.
* Do regular physical exercise.
* A special Ayurvedic preparation made from Bhringraj (Eclipta elba), Amala, corals, iron and black sesame seeds is very useful and even stops the graying of hair.
* Rub the scalp vigorously after washing the hair. It increases the blood circulation, and activates the sebaceous glands.
* A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is good to drink to induce hair growth. The juice of alfalfa mixed with that of carrot, and lettuce juice is also good to take.
* Daily application of coconut oil mixed with lime- juice on the hair is also beneficial. Applying juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also good.
* Washing the hair with a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) 2-3 times a week.
* A paste of licorice made by grinding it in milk can be applied in the bald patches. It induces hair growth. A paste of seeds of lemon and black pepper may also be applied on the bald patches.
