EnsurApet Capitalizes On Pet Health Insurance By Establishing A Network Of Veterinary Hospitals

March 3, 2008 – 6:37 pm | posted in Veterinary

ensurApet, Inc. (OTCBB:EPTI), a provider of pet health insurance, announces that it anticipates becoming a leader in the rapidly growing US market for pet health insurance through a network of veterinary hospitals.

CEO Russell Smith stated, “The United States has the largest population of companion animals in the world, with some 62% of US households owning pets, consisting of approximately 68 million dogs and 73 million cats.

“Over 38 million US households own dogs and over 35 million US households own cats. The cost of taking care of these pets is an astonishing $41 billion, and rising.

“The market for pet insurance in the US is largely undeveloped, with less than 1% of dog and cat owners currently insuring their pets, compared to 19% in the United Kingdom and 48% in Sweden.

“EnsurApet plans to combine its business model with a network of veterinary hospitals to develop a network of pet HMO’s to take advantage of this marketing opportunity and niche.

“We presently operate the marketing agency and assume a portion of the underwriting risk. We plan to underwrite all risk while developing a network of veterinary hospitals. EnsurApet will then manage every aspect of the pet medical and insurance business while gaining market share of the pet insurance market, now exceeding $100 million per year.”
