Patients May Benefit From COPD Research Registry, USA
April 30, 2007 – 4:47 pm | posted in Respiratory / AsthmaThe COPD Foundation is taking the lead in COPD research to build toward progress in finding better protocols, medicines, and a cure. AARC, which participates in the COPD Foundation, is helping to spread the word about this new registry that can help move research on COPD.
The COPD Foundation is beginning a research registry in order to promote COPD research and help patients identify and evaluate research opportunities.
The COPD Foundation research registry is a confidential database of individuals diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), as well as immediate family members who would consider participating in research. The COPD Foundation is developing the registry in conjunction with the National Jewish Medical & Research Center in Denver, Colorado.
The National Jewish Medical & Research Center will host the database in order to ensure the strictest confidentiality of patient information. No researchers, nor any other third party personnel will have access to personal information (such as names, addresses) without your prior knowledge and consent.
For more details, including how the database will function and an outline of the first major study, visit the COPD Foundation Registry.
