Comparative Analysis Of Alcohol Control Policies In 30 Countries

In a study in this week’s issue of PLoS Medicine, Albert Lowenfels and colleagues used a new metric called the Alcohol Policy Index, which is designed to allow comparisons between countries of their alcohol policies.

A clear inverse relationship was found between policy strength and alcohol consumption. The study is discussed in a related perspective article by Alison Ritter.
