American Health Lawyers Association And America’s Health Insurance Plans Will Hold Law Conference For Health Plans, Insurers, And Providers

The American Health Lawyers Association [AHLA] and America’s Health Insurance Plans [AHIP] have invited a stellar set of health policy analysts and health lawyers to deliver presentations at the Law Conference for Health Plans, Insurers, and Providers.

Join in-house and outside counsel, legal experts, government representatives and other plan, provider and insurance specialists for analysis and discussion of current issues, opportunities and challenges that are transforming the health law environment.

This year’s program general sessions will include:

– Hot Topics in Antitrust with William Kovacic, Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, and Thomas Krattenmaker (Moderator).

– Top Policy Challenges Facing Health Payors and Providers with Peter Kongstvedt of Accenture

– Litigation Trends with Kevin Gordon and Rick Shackelford

– Part D Law Enforcement Actions and Investigations with Joel Michaels and Jim Sheehan

– Expanded Health Care Coverage: One Goal, Two Approaches with Tom Barker, and Jim Roosevelt.

Other breakout sessions include Medicaid; Play or Pay, Fair Share, and Other Employer Mandates: State Health Reforms Confront ERISA and Other Challenges; Part D Compliance; and the Newest Dynamic in Plan-Provider Relations - Consumer Directed Healthcare.

The luncheon program will again feature Dr. Norman Ornstein, Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute Election Analyst for CBS News.

The HMOs and Health Plans Practice Group breakfast sponsored by Huron Consulting Group will be on May 10. There is an additional fee of $38 for members of the sponsoring Practice Group and $43 for non-members of the sponsoring Practice Group. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
