“Medicaid’s Long-Term Care Beneficiaries: An Analysis of Spending Patterns,” Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured: The issue brief by the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured examines costs related to Medicaid beneficiaries who use long-term care and acute care services. According to the brief, 7% of Medicaid beneficiaries who use long-term care account for more than half of all Medicaid spending, with 75% of those costs being used for long-term care and 25% being used for acute care and other supportive services (Kaiser Family Foundation release, 11/22).
