IAME, SCCT And ACCF Join Forces To Present Symposium On New Cardiovascular Technology In New York City

The Institute for Advanced Medical Education (IAME), in joint sponsorship with the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and co-sponsorship with the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), is presenting the first “Cardiovascular CT in New York” symposium December 6-7. The New York Academy of Medicine will serve as the setting for this landmark holiday season conference on the newest applications of advanced computed tomography (CT) imaging in cardiology.

The symposium is co-chaired by Michael Poon, MD, Director of Cardiovascular Medicine and Integrated Imaging at Cabrini Medical Center, New York City and president-elect of the SCCT and Stephan Achenbach, MD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Erlangen, Germany and president of the SCCT. The distinguished faculty includes notable cardiologist Arthur Agatston, MD, of Miami, FL, author of “The South Beach Diet,” whose topic will be “Coronary Calcium and CAD Prevention.”

“Cardiac CT is the latest and most exciting addition to cardiovascular non-invasive imaging,” said Dr. Poon. “This symposium gathers some of the world’s leading experts in the field of cardiac CT and will give attendees a most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of all important topics of today’s cardiac CT.”
